The Basics of Data Communication

Data communication is crucial to our digital world. It connects us with the devices and services we depend on. The basic concept of data communication is the transfer of data from one computer to another via channels or mediums. This is usually done by custom integrated circuits which are found in a range of communication devices such as cell phones, computers and printers.

Full-duplex communication is the mode of data communication that permits simultaneous two-way communication within a pair of devices. This mode is more complicated than simplex transmission, as it requires the ability to transmit and receive data at the same time.
